I accept been using Xoom for the past two years to ship approximately 500 USD to my mother in constabulary in Peru. For the most office except for 1 calendar month the transactions have been timely and without bug. This last transfer I needed to send 10K to the same recipient and the aforementioned bank account considering she was waiting for surgery. I sent the coin on 12/18/18 and the money was taken out of my bank account on 12/21/18 and forwarded to the receiving depository financial institution. I never received ANY emails, phone calls or text messages at Any time to notify me of a trouble.
I called numerous times to the customer service department. I chosen daily from approximately 12/23 to 12/27 and the answer from the customer service section was the same. Xoom stated the money had been transferred to the Recipients bank (BCP) and that at that place was a technical problem on their terminate. I finally asked to speak to a customer service Supervisor on the 27th (Day 9 of the transaction) and I was then told that the compliance department of BCP required boosted data. I never received any emails or prior contact from Xoom to make me aware of this.
I immediately scanned in all the required documents (ID, Banking company Statements, Passport) at approximately 11pm on 12/27. I called several times on the 28th, 29th and was advised later on several calls that the compliance department of BCP was non responding and finally that they were not open up until January 2nd. At no time did I receive an electronic mail update or phone phone call to propose of this from Xoom.
Many times when you call the client service department at Xoom it is a bad connexion because they employ an overseas call centre and the call gets asunder or the connection is difficult to hear and the call is ended. There was never whatsoever try to think from Xoom during these disconnected calls and I would have to phone call dorsum and explain the situation all over again. I volition now exist a total of 16 days earlier I will get an answer and all I take is promise that the money will be transferred. 1. My password did non work. I had recently changed it however on this transaction it did not work and I had to modify it again. This has happened 2 or iii times in the past year. I promise this does non continue to occur. 2. I was trying your new banking concern transfer which would salve on the fees each month. When I was reading about the transfer somewhere information technology said that if it was transferred to a major bank the transfer would instant and gear up to withdraw. Xoom has been the best fund-transfer mechanism I've ever used. Prior to Xoom I would use banking company mediated transfers, which was e'er time consuming, laborious, expensive and inconvenient. No such problems with Xoom, whom are efficient, inexpensive, and conveniently deposit funds into accounts very quickly. What would take me days to achieve via banks, now only takes minutes. I think the fastest time for a transfer has been less than 3 minutes, from potency with Xoom to bodily deposit in the overseas business relationship. Very impressive.

I have used XOOM for years now when sending money to China. The exchange rate is always better than the other options. The savings or proceeds often covers the toll of the transfer. Rates were not clear to me. By the time I realized how expensive it was going to be it was too late. I'll never suggest this service over again. I'd rather do a portion through PayPal equally a sale and the balance as a Friends and Family transaction.

I've been using PayPal for years to transfer money from the U.s.a. to France, so it was a natural to test out Xoom. First transaction; issues. I had to reinstate it. 2nd transaction, fine. Tertiary transaction...right earlier I went on holidays...cancelled without reason. I tried it again, and although the second effort worked, I received an electronic mail just a 24-hour interval later on saying it was cancelled. Although this referred to the cancelled one, the timing of it fabricated it seem that my 2nd try had been thwarted.
Long story short, I ended up with about $100 in bank fees. I spoke with Xoom's customer service on multiple occasions, one where they offered to reimburse me, only to send them my banking concern argument and get a response saying, "Yep, we don't do that." Definitely non using them again; Transferwise has higher transaction fees just you get more money out of it because of their superior rates. Had Xoom'due south customer service stepped up and done what they promised over the phone, this would accept been a different review.

I used Xoom service because they claimed they will transfer the money inside 4 hours and my family in India needed that coin next day. But they delayed the process and it is taking a week now to complete the transaction. When I contacted customer service, their reply was in some cases the transaction will have time for verification because I used a new account and I did not make a transaction for long time. If that was the instance, they should have mentioned this in their site clearly non in fine prints, so that the user is aware of information technology.

I have used Xoom once before, years ago earlier it was linked to PayPal and that experience was non the best. Was most scammed out of 2K because they handled the money transfer very poorly. After a few calls through their customer service I was able to sort it out and I told myself I would never utilise the site over again.
Fast forward to now. I am overseas and my current banking concern suggested I utilize Xoom to transfer money to myself. I thought that since it was now affiliated with PayPal, I could trust the services it provides. Again, really poor service. I initiated a coin transfer from my American depository financial institution to my overseas bank that should've taken no more than than 24-hours to process (according to the customer service person on the other line). 3 days go by without discussion and I find myself calling customer service again being transferred left and correct with them asking for information they should've asked for in the first identify.
Needless to say, I cancelled the transaction myself considering dealing with this site and their services is more of a headache than they're worth. In short, unreliable service. Too much having to deal with customer services representatives who can barely speak English. Disruptive ordeal that feels like you can exist scammed out of your money.

I have been using Xoom for nearly viii years at present and until this transaction I haven't had any problems with the service. I sent money to someone in the U.Grand. on 21 Dec. The coin was never deposited. When I chosen to see what was happening I was told that they were having a technical problem with their partner over and over over again and when I asked when they expected information technology to be solved they just said that they didn't know.
After 5 days of calls and finally getting to speak to someone in the U.Southward head office. I was told I could take a refund. I had previously been told past everyone that I talked to including those who were supposed to be supervisors that they couldn't refund the money equally they didn't know if their partner had received the money or not and I would merely need to wait and that they would resolve the state of affairs equally soon as possible. I finally got to speak to someone who said the money volition exist refunded today... Still waiting for information technology to hit my bank. Not happy with the service this time and will not be so quick to utilise them again.

Information technology'south hard to make transactions with Xoom. I complied with the documents they asked fifty-fifty if I had qualms about sending via email my personal information. After iii days the company canceled my transaction. And so I spoke with an agent, who talked lengthily and unnecessarily about those things - why they need those documents apathetic, blah, apathetic, you know afterward the already lengthy verification process. That my ID was verified okay, but the banking concern statement they wanted me to go the online copy even if I sent them a photocopy of my newspaper copy which I get monthly from my banking concern.
They just needed to see if in that location are funds in my account and I already showed that, consistent with my name and address shown in my ID. It's non even a large sum, for heaven's sake. Anyhow, no thank you. For me Xoom already zoomed and panned out. Remitly is a lot better! Unfortunately I needed to try Xoom because I was trying to discover a way to send coin to a unlike country that Remitly isn't serving yet. I'll accept to go do it the MoneyGram way once again.

There is no complaint about this service except the troublesome and strict verification procedure. I helped my mother to do the get-go transaction, merely Xoom requested talk straight to her to verify the account. There were no Xoom representatives that tin talk with my mother by her language. I tried to teach her to repeat after me to answer questions from Xoom service persons. They needed at to the lowest degree one day to verify submitted documentations. I tried sending coin to India from Canada. Was like shooting fish in a barrel to ready and send, but afterward 1 hr got an email saying in that location is some delay. 24 hours afterward I called to see progress as the money was taken out from my account. Customer service said their partner in India is experiencing some filibuster - wouldn't say what. I asked to observe out what and keep me posted. Once again 24 hours after that, no update, I called again to find out, aforementioned response from customer service. So the next day, I got an email saying money transfer has been canceled altogether. three days wasted, with merely to have the money transfer canceled for no bodily reason given other than "technical difficulty" any that means.

Start permit me preface this past saying that I accept been using XOOM for more than than four years to put coin into the aforementioned account in the Philippines, to pay for our house. I started a transfer on 12/ii afterward 2 days it was canceled by XOOM due to technical bug - I retried on 12/iv aforementioned result - I retried on 12/8 and this fourth dimension was told the transfer went through - money was removed from my U.s.a. account on 12/10 (normally the coin would appear in the Philippine account the same day as when money is taken from U.s. account).
Today is the 20th and, even though XOOM insists that the money was deposited, the Philippine bank has still not received the funds ($1000) - multiple calls and emails have resulted in excuse after alibi. Our partner says this or that, our records show this or that and fifty-fifty though we accept provided copies of banking concern statements and communications with the bank in the Philippines showing NO DEPOSIT, XOOM is insisting the transfer was made and say they are investigating. Too to note the saved recipient info at XOOM for bank eolith (that has been on their site for 4+ years) was gone when I started this transfer, I had to re-enter the account and Banking company information --however -- the depository financial institution nosotros use in the Philippines is no longer listed in XOOM's driblet-downwardly list. I am so angry as they are basically refusing to accolade their 'Coin Back Guarantee'. I will not be using this service again as this specific transfer has been an epic failure on the part of XOOM.
